Prevasid is a prescription medication to treat heartburn. Heartburn is an amazingly common problem, and it's really just a result of having too much stomach acid that gets pushed up into your esophagus. Prevasid, like other heartburn medications, provides relief by reducing the amount of acid in your stomach.
