Florouracil

Florouracil is used to inhibit the growth of cancer cells for certain types of cancer. The drug imitates a nutrient that cancer cells need to grow, so the cancer cells use it but in fact it provides no nourishment, thus preventing the cells from multiplying.

There are some unpleasant side effects with florouracil and some are not uncommon. So keep in touch with your doctor while you're taking the drug to make sure none of the side effects pose serious problems.
