Prevecid provides effective relief from heartburn for some people, but not everyone. For some, it doesn't seem to work so well. Some people may also have trouble tolerating heartburn medication, and for those it's possible that prevecid might be more mild. However, it may just be necessary to try some different medications until you find one that works.
