Penicilin

Penicilin is the main ingredient in a lot of different antibiotics. In fact, there are several different kinds of penicilin. If you see an antibiotic that ends with "ilin" or "illin" then it's probably penicilin (but there are others that don't).
Pencilin is used to kill bacterial infections, and will not help to fight viruses, such as the flu or a cold.
Some people are allergic to penicilin. In fact, it's the most common drug that people are allergic to. Allergic reactions can range from an itchy rash to trouble breathing. So if you take any penicilin drugs and experience any discomfort at all, talk to your doctor to make sure you aren't allergic.
